Part of mental training for young athletes is the ability to know what to work on at the right time. The only way that is possible, is if as a young athlete you know your stats.
The important questions that come to mind, what did I score during the last game? Why was my performance below par? When was the last time i performed above average in a game?
For sports organisations, we see this all the time. They have the stats of performance for the team going back 5 or 10 years. The last time the team won a championship or was relegated. Young athletes need this kind of information on a regular basis.
Stop working on things that have no impact on your progress in sports and start training on the specific things your game is currently lacking.
Preparation in sports begins with mental training. Preparing the mind to work on deliberate aspects of your game based on the performances you’re putting out. Thats the goal on today’s episode.
We’l examine what your stats would tell about the kind of athlete you are, how good you are and what you should currently be working on.
Remember, knowing is not enough you must apply, willing is not enough you must do.
