Is there luck in sports? This is question that gets asked a lot. Muria Mutola’s career in sports answers the questions. many would say, he was lucky to be in that position, she was lucky to have the parents she did and so on.
You see, in sports luck is where opportunity meets hard work. Maria Mutola grew up poor in Mozambique. It wasn.t until she had a certain level of performance that the IOC used its influence to get her a scholarship.
Maria Mutola specialised in the 800m and is a former Olympic Champion. She is also the most successful athlete in the IAAF World Indoor Championships .
So when you get asked about luck in sports always remember the story of Maria Mutola who started with nothing and rose to the top of the sport.
If she can do it then you can do it too. Yes there’s luck in sports but often the athlete worked their way to get that luck.
