Makhaya Ntini is the first black player to represent South Africa in cricket and he went on to be one of their greatest ever fast bowlers. For motivated student athletes he is a perfect mentor.
My question to you is this, what obstacles are in front of you? What struggles do you constantly face in sports.
The story of Makhaya Ntini’s career is a perfect example that nothing is impossible. Cricket is a white dominated sport but it never stopped Ntini, a black man from chasing his dreams and goals.
Always have it at the back of your mind that as long as you have the hunger to succeed then nothing is impossible.
This series on african legends drives home the point that it doesn’t matter where you come from, what you have or where you’re going, once you have a dream and you work towards it, you can achieve it.
This episode of Athlete Maestro looks at the lessons from Makhaya Ntini’s career and how you as the young athlete can apply it to your career.
Remember, knowing is not enough you must apply, willing is not enough you must do.
