The amount of young athletes we have in the world is always at an all time high. It means that you could be extremely good at your sport and still go unnoticed for whatever reason.
We’ve all heard the saying “for every Messi or Ronaldo, you have someone just as good who didn’t make it”
The question then is how do you stand out as an athlete. Guess what? There are many ways.
That’s why i’m excited for you to listen to today’s episode.
You see most young boys dreams of being professional athletes at some level. Now we know that not every one will make it and I can’t blame anyone for being upset and angry.
So when you dream of being a professional athlete and the dream doesn’t come true for whatever reason but you now dedicate your time and resources to helping others behind you achieve their dreams, that’s special.
That’s the story of my guest on the podcast today.
Jake Kelfer like most young boys in the United States loved basketball and Kobe Bryant. His dream was to make it to the pros. That dream died when he maxed out in height at around 5ft 8inches.
If he was upset and couldn’t care less about pro sports, no one would blame him but he said no, i’m going to help others become pro.
He is the founder of Professional Basketball Combine, an event created to showcase the talent of young basketball players who missed out during the NBA combines.
If you’ve never heard of the combines, its an event where prospects get the chance to impress pro teams who might be interested in drafting them.
Good combine equals pro contract in most cases. Jake helps the guys who didn’t impress get a second bite at the cherry.
That’s not all, Jake is also the bestselling author of two books Elevate Beyond and Elevate Your Network.
In this episode, Jake will help you elevate your game so you can stand out.
If you loved this episode shoot me an email tola@athletemaestro.com and i’ll be sure to send Jake your love.
If you have any questions about something we didn’t talk about, you can ask as well.
Don’t forget to share this episode with your fellow athletes and don’t forget to follow Jake on social media, he’s @jakekelfer on Instagram.
Remember, knowing is not enough you must apply, willing is not enough you must do.
