EPISODE SIXTY SEVEN
“No matter how good you get, you can always get better and that’s the exciting part” – Tiger Woods
When you mention golf, you immediately mention Tiger Woods.
His father introduced him to the sport at a very early age and was determined to see him succeed.
For such a long time, he was the face of the sports. At every event it was Tiger Woods or nothing. He was the highest paid athlete for such a long time due to endorsement deals that further cemented his status as the best golfer in the world.
His career so much different from the careers of others because he answers the age long question about talent and hardwork.
Woods himself would tell you he was never talented but worked at what he has achieved in the sport.
3 KEY LESSONS
- Master the art of deliberate practice
- Set big and lofty goals
- Talent is overrated.
Episode 67 spills more the secrets to his success and what you can further learn from him. He might be going through injuries and a loss of form at the moment but our focus is on the height of his success.
ACTION FOR TODAY
Pick out one specific thing you think you are currently lacking in your career.
Now over the next few weeks you are going to deliberately practice improving on that one thing.
When you go into training work specifically on that one thing and that one thing only. Get feedback on the progress you are making. Identify the improvement you can make and start applying them.
If you are working on your free throw attempts, are they hitting the rim or are they air balls? This feedback will help know what you need to change.
One final secret, don’t move on to the next thing until you have finished this one.
