EPISODE SEVENTY FIVE
“discipline, doing what you hate to do but doing it like you love it” – Mike Tyson
Boxing is a dangerous sport no doubt. But even in danger there are lessons to learn.
Iron Mike is the perfect example of talent and hardwork to failure.
First things first, Iron Mike would go down in heavyweight history as a great. After all he is the youngest heavyweight champion in history.
He started off with purpose and drive. And that led to his early success in the ring. He was a knockout machine. One of the most feared fighters in the division.
But he never fulfilled his potential. He fell off the banwagon because he lost his way.
He stopped working hard and forget why he got involved in sports in the first place. The money and distractions get in the way and derailed his legacy.
3 KEY LESSONS
- Know your why
- When you talk the talk be prepared to walk the walk
- Don’t take anything lightly
Episode 75 takes a deeper look at the lessons behind Iron Mike.
ACTION FOR TODAY
Take some time this week to truly identify your why. Why do you do what you do? Why are you involved in sport?
This is important.
When you have identified your why it becomes difficult to take anything lightly.
So you must know your why. What gives you the most satisfaction when you perform? What is the number one thing that is mostly on your mind? Success, friends, family, money, trophies etc.
Identify your why.
