The world of sports is difficult for young athletes as it is. As a young athlete you must master your training, your mind and performance to succeed in sports.

A young athlete is lucky if they find coaches equipped to help them with all of the above. One of such coaches is DeShawn Fontleroy.

DeShawn Fontleroy is a sports performance coach who works with athletes of all levels on developing the mental and physical edge they need to make it in sports.

If you’re a high school or college athlete looking to prepare yourself for your sport, then DeShawn is the guy to get you ready. If you’re a professional athlete looking for an edge over your competitors then DeShawn is your guy as well.

I was very excited to have him on the podcast to share his experience helping and working with young athletes.

You’ll learn the things that have been holding you back from succeeding in your sports as well as the things you can do today to become a better athlete.

We talked about mental toughness and confidence, we also talked about the disciplines of the mind a young athletes needs to master and the things you must train it to do to succeed in sports.

We also talk about the power of visualization in sports and mastering the fundamentals in sports. It’s a packed episode.

We finished up our discussion with me asking DeShawn what it means for a young athlete to be a maestro and whats the one thing you as a young athlete can do today to get you a step closer towards your goals.

Remember, knowing is not enough you must apply, willing is not enough you must do.
