Every young athlete has the same dream and goal. To achieve their dreams.

But one question that comes up is “How can i achieve this”, “How do i make the best use of my talent”?

You’ll get your answers on this episode of Athlete Maestro.

Alan Stein Jr is a sports performance coach who has worked with the likes of Kevin Durant and Victor Oladipo.

During the course of working with thousands of athletes, he has had the opportunity to interact with Kobe Bryant and Steph Curry watching their dedication to training and pursuit of perfection.

It is an honour to have him on the podcast to share his wealth of knowledge and the things young athletes need to be focusing on daily to ensure they become maestros of their sports.

I enjoyed everything Alan shared and i’m excited as well for what you’ll learn in this episode.

We talked about his new book Raise Your Game, High Performance Secrets from the best of the best. I’ll be giving away five copies of the book so if you want a copy send me a mail tola@athletemaestro.com.

We also talk about the importance of mental toughness to young athletes and the need to pay special attention to the “unseen hours”. The period when young athletes are not under the spotlight or being watch by their coaches, parents or mentors. What do you do in those hours?

We also break down what Alan calls his multi level pyramid of what young athletes must  have in order to succeed in sports and why the higher in levels you go the more difficult it is to differentiate yourself but the more rewarding its going to be.

Apart from asking Alan what it means for a young athlete to be a maestro, i ask him the one thing that athletes can do today to get them a step towards their goals. His answer would amaze you.

Remember, knowing is not enough you must apply, willing is not enough you must do.
