Goal setting in sports is the hall mark of great athletes. As a young athlete you must learn the type of goals to set and how to approach them.
Robert Brault said “we are kept far from our goals not by obstacles but by a clear path to a lesser goal”
Setting goals for many young athletes is not a problem, the problem lies is setting goals that are too low.
This doesn’t happen because that’s the aim, it happens because its easier to set lesser goals and achieve them.
That’s what Robert Brault is saying. Your goals don’t happen because you didn’t set them or because of obstacles they happen because there’s something easier to achieve.
On this episode of Athlete Maestro, I want to encourage you to dream big and set big goals. Your regret later on in life would not be because you didn’t achieve the big goal but because you set the bar so low that it was so easy for you to achieve.
The question then becomes, what if I had just set a higher goal.
Remember, knowing is not enough you must apply, willing is not enough you must do.
