Last week we discussed what you as an athlete must look for in your coach. Well, there are qualities coaches look for in athletes as well. Not every coach wants to work with every athlete. Great coaches want to work with certain types of athletes.
So, what are the qualities coaches look for in athletes?
The first thing you should know is that as an athlete you need a great coach. The better your coach the better your chances of succeeding. In addition, your coach is the person you’re spending the most time around. That’s the person passing knowledge to you so they must see certain things in you before they think you are worth the risk.
As an athlete, you should be working on attracting a great coach. On this episode of the show i break down 5 qualities coaches look for in athletes.
One of the qualities is coachability. Are you coachable as an athlete or are you stubborn?
This is where your fixed mindset and growth mindset comes in. Young athletes should have a growth mindset which means they are willing to learn and improve. Don’t worry i break it down a little further in this episode.
Today’s episode of the podcast is focused on you the athlete and the qualities coaches are looking for in you. If you want a great coach, have these qualities.
Remember, knowing is not enough you must apply, willing is not enough you must do.
