Patience they said is a virtue. How to be patient as an athlete is virtue every young athlete must possess. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you think you know about sports, you must learn to be patient.
Patience leads to so many things in sports when not managed properly. It can lead to anxiety and pressure which in turn leads you to have inconsistent performances.
No matter the amount of talent you have or the time you feel is on your side, patience is key to your success. You have to be patient when it comes to chasing your goals and you also have to be patient when it comes to executing a skill or technique.
No matter where you turn patience is key.
Gary Player said “patience practiced correctly is a powerful mental tool that unlocks so many other positives and that will also give you the kind of perspective others may lack under pressure”
So you see, patience, patience, patience.
Today’s episode of the podcast goes into detail on why and how to be patient as an athlete.
